Tequila Poker
No, it’s not a drinking game; it’s an unbelievably fun version of Poker which has been combined with elements of Blackjack to create a sensational Casino game. This has to be one of the best games I’ve played in a long time and, although it took me a few minutes to get my head around what was happening, I was soon fully converted to playing Tequila Poker. Remember, you can play it here for free before you play for real money so take your time, fiddle around with the features and work on your strategy before you start gaming for the real money.
It might look confusing at first but Tequila Poker is really quite simple to learn. Initially you will be dealt 4 cards. From these cards you have to decide whether to play a Poker hand or a point total hand. You will then be dealt the final 2 cards and you’ll form your hand with the 5 best cards on the table.
If you think your initial 4 cards look as though they could make quite a high-value hand then you should opt for High Tequila. After all six cards have been drawn, the tally of the 5 highest cards on the table will give you your score, with payouts as follows:
- 54 = 200 to 1
- 53 = 15 to 1
- 52 = 7 to 1
- 51 = 4 to 1
- 50 = 3 to 1
- 49 = 2 to 1
- 46-48 = 1 to 1
If you have selected High Tequila but your score is less than 46 then you won’t win anything. On the other hand, if you select Tequila Poker then your top 5 cards will be treated just like a regular Poker hand, with payouts as follows:
- Royal Flush = 200 to 1
- Straight Flush = 50 to 1
- 4 of a Kind = 15 to 1
- Full House = 8 to 1
- Straight = 5 to 1
- 3 of a Kind = 3 to 1
- Two Pair = 2 to 1
- Pair of Aces = 1 to 1
What I really love about this game is the variety. With every hand you are able to choose which game you play based on a strategic assessment of the cards in front of you, making it possible to develop strong tactics which can help you win.
In terms of the software design, Playtech has done a great job with Tequila Poker. It’s slick and smart with a simple layout, proving itself to be far more serious than its silly name suggests. The gameplay is flawless, carefully mimicking the movements of a real-life Casino game.
I’ve tried a lot of games in my time but Tequila Poker is one that I keep coming back to. Try it out for free now and see if you feel the same.
