The Martingale System
Roulette is considered to be one of the most popular online casino games in Canada. With both high and low stakes betting opportunities, multiple ways to bet and huge payouts, Roulette is a one of a kind game that has attracted the attention of betting experts from around the world. If you are familiar with the game, you will know that the most popular online roulette betting system is the Martingale system. Originating in 18th Century France, this high-risk betting system is seen as a sure-fire way to beat the odds when placing even money bets.
How the System Works
The Martingale system can be used in all types of online casino games with even money bets, such as red/black bets in Roulette, odds/evens bets as well as the pass line bet in craps. The basic concept of the betting system is fairly simple. Essentially, the system states that every time a player wins the bet, they make the same bet on the next round.
However, if the player loses the bet, they simply double the bet for the next round. When a player does eventually hit on a winner again, they will always end up with more money than what they started with. With most online casino games, this type of system would not work but with roulette, at least in the short term, the Martingale system can show promising results.
Examples in Roulette
Let’s take a look at how this controversial online roulette betting system works. Let’s suppose you are playing Roulette and you are betting on red. You place a €5 bet on red and hope for the best. In this example the ball drops onto a red number and you win even money. In the next round, you bet the same €5 amount. This time the ball drops onto black and you lose. At this point, the Martingale system states that you should double your next bet to €10. If the bet is lost again, you will need to double it again to €20.
In this example, we are going to continue the run of bad luck and say that the bet loses again. According to the Martingale system, you should just keep doubling until you have a winner. This means that you are up to €40. If you are really unlucky, the ball will drop on black again and you will have to double your bet yet again to €80. Finally, the ball drops onto red again. When you calculate your winnings, you will find that you are now €10 up from where you started. If we are sticking to the online roulette betting system, our next bet would start back at €5.
The Downside of the Martingale System
Like all online casino games, roulette results are completely random and impossible to predict. Because of this, players can end up with very long winning and losing streaks. This is the only downside of the Martingale system. For players to successfully use the betting system, they would need to have a significant bankroll to keep increasing the bet after each loss. In some cases, players will even reach the maximum table limit and not be able to go further. The Martingale system works for short term betting, but the longer you play, the more likely you will find yourself with long losing streaks.
For the best results, give the Martingale system a try in free casino games, and once you’ve got the hang of it, move on to real money play.
