Evolution Gaming Comes to Pennsylvania

Operators licensed in the US state of Pennsylvania will soon be offering products by leading live casino systems provider, Evolution Gaming (EG). This is thanks to a conditional Interactive Gaming Manufacturer licence awarded to the firm by the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board (PGCB).
Announced in a press release last week, it is a significant milestone in Evolution Gaming’s expansion into regulated United States markets as it continues to grow its presence there. Most notably, it is the first step required for the provider to build a live casino studio in the state.
The First in NJ and PA
Evolution Gaming’s new conditional Interactive Gaming Manufacturer licence is the first to be awarded to a live provider in the Keystone State. Online gambling was first legalised in Pennsylvania in 2017, in an effort to bridge a major budgetary deficit, and the first regulated PA-facing internet casinos launched mid July. With the regulatory red tape now cleared, next first for Evolution Gaming in Pennsylvania will be the construction of a live casino studio, for which plans are reportedly already underway.
Before the company entered Pennsylvania, it had already established a presence for itself in neighbouring New Jersey, one of the few other US states to legalise online gambling to date. It was here, in the Garden State, that Evolution Gaming launched its first US-based studio in Atlantic City in August last year. EG was also the first live provider to obtain a licence to operate in New Jersey, as in Pennsylvania.
North American Footprint
As the regulated market continues to open up in the US and further up into the North American continent, Evolution Gaming has every intention of cashing in on this untapped potential.
Indeed, according to American and Land-Based Operations Chief Business Development Officer at EG, James Stern, the firm has witnessed phenomenal demand for live casino products in the United States. Stern revealed that the planned standalone studio in Pennsylvania would act as Evolution Gaming’s base of operations for both online and land-based activity in the US.
At the same time, EG announced plans to double the capacity of its existing Atlantic City studio, with the aim of attracting more US licensees as clients. These operators would then create dedicated tables and spaces for the expansion of their games portfolios by the addition of what Stern describes as award-winning crowd pleasers. At the same time, EG partner online gambling brand, 888recently upgraded its website, while the operator continues to expand its land-based operations via partnerships with, Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Atlantic City, Ocean Casino Resort and Resorts Casino Hotel, among other Atlantic City venues.
This is in addition to Evolution Gaming’s dedicated live Canadian casino which was in Vancouver in 2018.
