With 82% of the Fort McMurray wildfire controlled, “the Beast” as it has been nicknamed has finally been tamed. While the fire has not been extinguished, it has been contained thanks to the efforts of firefighters and rain. Due to the ongoing nature of the fire, Gamblinginsider.ca has decided to continue its relief fund initiative - originally meant to last the month of June - to go on for the duration of July 2016. The Gamblinginsider Relief fund will donate $1 toward relief efforts each time a new player signs up with one of their recommended online casinos and makes a deposit. To date more than a thousand firefighters are still combatting the fire at the front lines.  Subsequent rainy conditions have yielded great results in the form of 57 millilitres. The fire struck Fort McMurray on 3 May 2016 forcing more than 80 000 people to evacuate their homes, and at the height of its destruction was moving at 20 – 40 metres per minute, thus creating its very own weather pattern.
