Top software developer Microgaming prioritises ethics in all of its operations and puts a strong emphasis on social responsibility. Based in the Isle of Man, Microgaming has established a series of bursaries for local students from the island to enable their further education.
Microgaming Funding Program
The program supports young people from the area by funding their living expenses outside of their course fees up to £6,000 per year. The money is awarded to those from backgrounds where they would struggle to afford university otherwise, and to those who demonstrate excellence in their chosen area of talent.
Ultimately Microgaming is seeking to promote and develop home-grown talent from the Isle of Man. Roger Raatgever, CEO of Microgaming, commented on the bursary: “It is essential that we provide them with the tools to reach their potential and that’s why we created this initiative. We are incredibly passionate about Corporate Social Responsibility and are proud of the contribution we make to the Island.
Our new education initiative complements the work we already do on the island. We want to see the Isle of Man thrive.” Applications for the 2014 bursaries are being accepted until August 20 2014 and further details can be found on the Microgaming website.
