Microgaming Unveil New Arthur’s Gold Slot
Posted on July 15, 2020 at 3:07am
Microgaming have a reputation for delivering some of the best online casino games in Canada. So, when the iGaming developer announced that a new slot would be going live on the 9th of July, local enthusiasts sat up and paid attention. The game was revealed to be called Arthur’s Gold, and as the name suggests, it is based around the mythological King Arthur, and his famous Knights of the Round Table. Not an original theme by any means, but given the reputation of the developer, still certainly worth taking a look at.
Though, it was not Microgaming themselves that produced the slot. It was, instead, a newcomer to the iGaming industry, Gold Coin Studios. Arthur’s Gold will, in fact, be the first game from the newbie studio, who partnered with Microgaming to give the project life.
With that being said, let’s see how the fledgling company did with their first attempt.
A Closer Look At The Game
Putting Arthur’s Gold under the microscope reveals it to be a 5 reel, 3 row slot that is firmly based around a vast array of special features. The good news, right off the bat, is that it is a high volatility title, which will go a long way to keeping fans of frequent payouts happy. Upon closer inspection, a relatively unique feature can be seen; 10 of a kind payouts. This means that symbols can match as many as 10 times in a single spin, offering substantial payouts when they do.
Besides this feature, Arthur’s Gold also offers a Free Spins bonus round that comes with a few unique specials of its own. After being triggered, Free Spins add expanding wilds and instant respins to the mix, which is certainly welcome.
In terms of maximum payout, a player can expect 4,000x the original wager. This is comparably low to a number of other popular slots, but still enough to do the title justice. So, all in all, Arthur’s Gold is an interesting release with major potential. Gold Coin Studios have done a fine job.
An Expanding Network
Andrew Booth, director of games at Microgaming, shared a few words regarding the launch of the slot, and the new partnership with the developer. Booth expressed that it was always of huge benefit when a studio was added to the company’s developer network, and that in the case of Gold Coin Studios, an enormous amount of industry knowledge had been brought to the table.
He went on to explain that the developers had proven themselves with their first slot, being a creation that showed without question that the team was capable of helping to diversify the Microgaming portfolio. This diversification would, Booth concluded, help in ensuring that the company was able to keep delivering the best online casino games in Canada.
John Duffy, CEO at Gold Coin Studios, shared a few thoughts of his own. He admitted to being thrilled at having closed the partnership with the bigger studio, which would enable his company to rapidly expand like never before. He pointed out that his team’s titles would now be reaching hundreds of active operators in dozens of countries around the world, which was nothing short of a dream come true.
Gold Coin Studios, which is based in Nevada, may be a new company in terms of being established, but the team of designers are all industry veterans. According to Duffy, the combined years of experience shared by all members of the team comes to an impressive 200. Looking at Arthur’s Gold proves that the developer certainly knows what it is doing, and is likely here to stay.
