PokerStars may have closed their biggest brand deal to date. According to a recent announcement the Flutter Entertainment owned online casino company has officially struck a deal with Interregional Sports Group (ISG) and by extension Formula 1. This in itself is already big news for the company, but more so that the partnership is set to continue on through each season until 2023.
PokerStars has ISG to thank for this major breakthrough. The organisation is the commercial rights partner for Formula 1 and focuses primarily on using televised sports to help brands reach regional markets. In this case there is no question that the online casino and Poker site and Formula 1 are a match made in heaven.
An Incredible Opportunity
Executive CEO of ISG, Tony Ragan, shared a few thoughts on the deal. He first stressed that he is thrilled to have come to an agreement with Flutter Group, especially since there is so much room for further future innovation.
He went on to stress that the Formula 1 market and the online casino and Poker market have many overlapping qualities, meaning that sports fans are sure to be engaged on a deeper level. He concluded that ISG always focuses on specific targeted groups, and this case has simply put the right corporate puzzle pieces together.
World Championship Announced
The brand deal is certainly big news for PokerStars, but perhaps not as big as the second announcement the company made. It was revealed that the World Championship of Online Poker will be kicking off on the 22nd August, much to the delight of digital table game fans everywhere. The event will run through until September 15th 2021.
However, this will be by far the biggest that the World Championship of Online Poker has ever been. Word was given that players will be battling it out for a stunning $100 million. This is in comparison to the previous $80 million. As it stands, over 1 million entries were seen last year, and in excess of 1 million should be in attendance this year.
PokerStars marketing director Tom Warren shared a few thoughts of his own. He commented on the new partnership saying that it is an amazing chance to reach a passionate new market. He went on to conclude that although this was a huge marketing push for the online casino company, it is still expertly fine-tuned.
