RocketFrog, the Los Angeles based social gaming company launched the “largest free-to-play online casino app” for Facebook on May 22nd
The app boasts some of the most popular casino games
around including Texas Hold ‘Em Poker, Blackjack, Slots, No Limit Poker, Video Poker and Roulette. Texas Hold ‘Em and Blackjack are multi-player tournament games and the other Vegas-classics are stand alone, one player games.
RocketFrog Chief Executive and Co-founder, Brett Calapp said “We’ve created social tournaments where players can interact and compete to win real prizes against their friends; not just leader board points or status increases… There’s no better place to do that than Facebook because that’s where your friends are online”
Small group tournaments of around 30-100 people are run daily by RocketFrog. These tournaments include Blackjack
and Poker rounds that are very quick and last between two-five minutes. Prizes are awarded by advertisers and will change each day dependant on who is advertising the game.
The App provides a host of learning tutorials, game strategy articles and tips from professional players.
On the advisory board of RocketFrog is Tom Anderson, Co-founder and former president of MySpace, he says: “Advertisers are always looking for something different, something that engages users and cuts through the noise. The entire game experience is branded by the daily advertiser and at the same time users get to play for real world prizes.”
RocketFrog has plans to release new games on a regular basis along with mobile apps so users can play and build the largest free-to-play social casino anywhere on the net.
Online “real play” casino operators will be keeping a close eye on their development as many are still looking for viable ways to crack the social networking market.
